70's book about a doll made to look like the little girl

I am looking for hte title of a book about a little girl whose daad travels all around the world and brings her a doll from anywhere around the world he travels. however, the doll always has one of the little girls characteristics (eyes, nose, chin, etc.). One day he comes home with a doll that has a trait from each doll, and lo and behold the doll looks exactly lik eth little girl. My grandmother had it when i was little, thinking it was 70's.
