Mentors may have an influence on youngsters, often for the wrong reasons, but generally are the building block for the great organisation the GAA is. Their dedication cannot be understated, however, they cannot be parents to all their players and it is those parents who willingly hand over such responsibilities to avoid their own are the prime reason for Anti-social behaviour.
No doubt they'll shout the loudest about their kids innocence when someone tells them in the pub that little Johhny is in a bit of trouble with the Guards.
