I bred a 12.3hh section B to a 15hh arab mare and we tried to dig a hole, get him up on a pile of hay etc. finally he just bred her from the ground. My vet suggested building a half stock type deal to get her front in and have it in a hole so he had the advantage but couldn't get his feet tangled up in any way [ie. half stock]This may help, we just didn't need it.
