Hi Meghan. No, I do not think your pony will be competitive enough for the sporthorse ring at A rated Arab shows.. They are really looking for that warmblood cross look.Under 14H is a real problem I have noticed.. Believe me, as an AAOTH for many years I see it all the time. I also breed and show my ponies.I also have PB arabians that if they are not 16H, they do not do good in the sport horse ring..But they win in halter and the regular hunter ring?? If that makes any sense?? We are working at changing that and bringing the smaller sized arabs into the sporthorse ring.Like you probably already know, the type of Arab they are looking for changes year to year.. so stay connected and go to as many arab show as possible even if only to observe the style of horse in the ring.. I do recommend you register them as half-arabs, Welaras and 1/2 Welsh due to raising the value of your pony. Good luck to you!! Robin
