Dear Katie,
As to your specific questions:
From what I've seen over the years, the Section As are the ones with the break at the trot, not the Bs -- the Bs ARE the Hunter Ponies.
We cross small Arab stallions on Welsh mares, including As, but don't recommend natural cover if there is more than a hand or two difference in size. AI is much, much safer for both the stallion and the mare. The Welsh stallions I use on my Arab mares are all handled AI.
You can get your greys color tested at either the UKy or UCal, Davis for $40 and $50, respectively. Check out their websites for details.
To get dilutes or other unusual colors into your herd, you are going to have to bring them in thru the Welsh side as the Arabians are pretty straight-forward: grey, bay, black, chestnut, bay. No roans, but some do carry the Sabino/Rabicano genes, especially in the Crabbet lines.
I'm not sure I understand why you are looking for a colt, or whether you want a Welsh, Arab or Welara? We are going to have some extraordinarily good Welara (and Arabian) babies on the ground soon, possibly even a buckskin or two. And certainly I can help you find whatever it is you are looking for thru my extensive contacts in the Welara and Arabian communities.
