Posted by Galen McBride 4Z's Kitty Longstockings is a 9 year old palomino daughter of Flare out of Hilltop Kitty. As a special bonus "Ms. Kitty" is in foal to Summit's Shimmering Star, a chestnut-roan Flare son bred and owned by Yates Colby, Summit Welsh, of Columbia Falls, MT. I met Yates while we were both at the Red Deer "Westerner" show outside Calgary, Alberta, last July. She had brought Kitty to the show and I purchased her there -- it was love at first sight. Yates was kind enough to haul her back to Montana to breed her to Shimmer, doubling up on that wonderful Flare blood. When we finally got to Yates' place last weekend, my husband also liked Kitty's little half-brother, Summit's Silverado (*Rosedale Royal Flare x Maranatha Pure Delight by Glannant Adonis), so we tucked him into the front half of the trailer and headed east with another fabulous Flare foal. These three Welsh will form the nucleus of our purebred Section B Welsh herd, as well as supporting our growing Welara program. We're finally home from our 7,000 mile round trip from Virginia to Montana to bring back not one, but two beautiful purebred Section B Welsh ponies by Canadian champion (and UK import) *Rosedale Royal Flare.
