
Posted by paul Mr. Busch, I couldnt help but notice your generalization here with the capital ALWAYS. I do not wish to discuss the politics involved, for that is not the issue. You might be interested to know that AB896, a California bill of last session that among other things was designed to close 3 of Californias 5 institutions and transfer resulting funds into the community, was split right down the middle as well. Democrats supported the bill, while the unions and the Republicans did not. It was baffling to me at time. If you have an explanation I would love to hear it. Otherwise I will assume you have drawn the conclusion that I have drawn, services to people with disabilities are more complicated and more involved then red/blue donkey/elephant politics. paul

I would remind the reader that it is ALWAYS Republican controlled legislatures that seek to close these massive institutions and transfer money and supports to community based private sector residential providers. Steve Busch-
