Posted by Penny The hospital was not negligent in providing the care that enabled this child to live. In fact, it took a great deal of attention and care to ensure her survival. I know this because I have three children who were born very prematurely. I was also informed that they would probably have disabilities, but I did not care. I wanted my children with or without disabilities. Although my children do have disabilities, I do not feel that I should be compensated because of it. My husband and I feel that our lives have been enriched by our children. They have enormous strength of character, and a friendly smile for everyone they meet. There are difficult times, but not enough to matter. And I would never want to give them up...not even for $64 million.

I am very pleased with the decision of the appeals court to reverse the $64 million award to the Miller family. I am disappointed that this family would even file the lawsuit in the first place. It leads me to believe that they think of Sidney as nothing more than a burden.
