People with disabilities, definitely. However,as a a parent of someone with a disability, but not a person with disability myself, I would never correct or suggest otherwise to a person with a disability because I respect however they want to call themselves. I also don't believe in overt correcting of people, but rather use a more gentle approach by modeling the preferred term. Finally, I ask the same question of preferred terms for children with disabilities. I myself prefer "children with disabilities" and really dislike "special needs kids" for several reasons. The main reason though is that there is nothing wrong with having a disability and I believe using the specific term helps convey that message. Why use a euphemism? Betsy
