Posted by Melanie Ms McKee dismisses those who do not agree with her as resentful activists, but resentment does not describe my opinions either. Nor do I regard activist as a dirty word. I did feel sorry for Mr Reeves who was used by people without disabilities to raise money for their programs and projects. Well, I guess it's a living - for them. I do harbor a horror of people who purport to speak for all of us since I have found people with disabilities vary as much in their opinions as those without disabilities. But I guess making blanket, dismissive statements makes one desirable as a columnist. I guess it's a living - for Ms Mckee. Melanie Fry

Having never spoken with Ms Mckee myself, I must wonder how she comes to speak for "every wheelchair user." As a wheelchair rider myself, I didn't share Ms Mckee's hopes for Mr Reeves.
