Busch Quoting a “study published today in the Dutch Journal of Medicine”, [Jan.22, 2005], World Net Daily reports that, “Doctors in the Netherlands have been killing infants born with disabilities at least since 1997, despite euthanasia of children being illegal in that country.” (22 of the cases were babies born with spina bifida.) The growing public acceptance of killing babies who happen to be born with disabilities is a logical result of teaching Darwinian evolution as the gospel truth. Faith in “naturalism” provides western secular societies with the “right” to commit euthanasia using the same rationale as pro-abortion advocates. If an advanced modern society will allow the termination of a few million “unplanned” pregnancies every year simply for the sake of convenience, how could anyone question the validity of killing a few neonatal “mistakes” after they are born? Thanks to technological advances in biology, techno-man now has the power to guide the creation of life. We can select “designer” babies to meet our fancy, while eliminating inferior “material” through genetic engineering processes. If a person is born with a disability today, (oops!), and somehow manages to make it out of the hospital alive, don’t worry, we can still take care of the problem by instituting even more “progressive” euthanasia laws patterned after those which have already passed legal challenges in Oregon and the Netherlands. If people are so careless as to become disabled somewhere along life’s path, a liberal use of euthanasia would reduce the financial burdens placed on the rest of society while solving our Social Security crisis at the same time. Once society is convinced of the value of getting rid of the “lame” and the “insane”, the next logical step is the elimination of all other individuals or groups considered “undesirable”.
