Like any other endeavor the amount of resources that society is willing to commit to a task will reflect the outcome. How much training is done for direct care workers? How much do we pay direct care workers? How do we establish the "corporate culture" for direct care staff? Answering these questions will go a long way in understanding the need for this kind of legislation. As an emergency physician I'vw see all kinds of opportunies to save lives but if no one calls those opportunities are not options!
