Wow,
is this embarassing. Not only am I from Canada, but I am from the community mentioned, Burnaby which is a suburb of Vancouver.
It is also probably unnecessary. The family should have been involved with their local community living organization where they would have had political contacts locally, provincially and nationally.
I hope to be able to phone them next week and see if we can help them but it may be too late.
