I met Dr. Dybwad at our Partners in Policymaking Class in Tampa, Florida in January 1998.
He led our first class, using handouts from his presentation at the 118th Annual Meeting of the American Association on Mental Retardation.
It was title: From Feeblemindedness to Self-Advocacy
A Half Century Of Growth And Self-
Fullfillment
Heller School, Brandeis University
June 2nd, 1994 Boston MA
I was so impressed that he held such a passion when helping people, and how he helped to create change for many.
He was truly a pioneer of the advocacy movement.
God Bless Dr. Dybwad and May He Rest In Peace.
You will be missed by many.
