Tripe is cow stomach.
Here's my never to be humble opinion about cooked vs raw. Humans need cooked food in spite of the latest trends toward raw. Dogs can eat either, and get nutrition. Beware of the latest fads, just stick with the tried and true, and you can't go wrong.
The cooked chicken bone controversy is completely manufactured, in my opinion.

: I may be wrong as I am new to the raw diet. I have been using it for about 6 mths
: now and have had to learn by trial and error. It was told to me that any chicken
: bone cooked could become brittle and splinter and seriously hurt your dog. If you
: cooked it at all it would start deteriating the nutrients in the meat and bone. I
: have been told the best way to feed an all raw diet is for it to be just that all
: raw. The chicken bones uncooked can be chewed up for calcium. See at first I thought
: you should cook it as to kill the germs and not give your dogs worms. Which I
: learned is a myth, dogs can handle a lot. You also have to give them some liver
: everyonce in a while. The one thing I really don't know much about is tripe. This
: might be a stupid question but what is tripe?
