Mark you know how I feel. I agree completely. I understand that PennHip hasn't been around for 50 and all but the proof is in the pooding that is works. It's also funny how some the people that are arguing hip testing doesn't work are people that should know better than anybody else it does. It's not perfect but in a study I read the other day PennHip is 236% more reliable in removing HD from these dogs. Now we might not ever completely remove it but we can put a hurting on it as some people say. Wouldn't that be great only having to worry about the other important parts of the dogs and not whether they will get up the next time they lay down at 6 months old. It is ridiculous to what lengths some of the well known breeders will do to make there side of the street look like the one to be standing on. IMO it makes them look dumb and a newbie like me look really smart LOLOL. They say they wan't to see the proof and that the only proof we have was taken from the PH website. Well in my eyes one of the best hipped dogs out there is Rebeccah. She was bred by Johnny Powell. You can obviously see in her pedigree how the hips scores have gotten better each gen with testing and selective breeding. That couldn't be done without PH testing. These pioneers such as Powell got out of the breed before there time because people ridicouled them for using these methods to better there dogs when it was obvious it worked. How frustrating that must be to try and truely better a breed with scietific methods and people say they know more than the scientists. I would get out too. Thankfully times are changing. I have a litter of pups on the ground right now and you wouldn't believe the buyers that are asking about PH. These are people that don't know anyone in the breed or have ever seen an American Bulldog for the most part. They did some research thank god and found out by making there own mind up that PH testing was a good thing. Times
