This is what He told me. I should send Gracie back to Mark. Mark gave her to me when I went with Aaron to pick up some females for Aaron. I told Mark I could keep her until things settled down & he could get back going again. Mark insisted I take her. She's a nice female, rock hard muscle, nice & straight. But I'm to honor my original commitment. Let me know when, where, etc & I'll ship her to ya. You can do Alot with her with the up & comers you have. All you have to do is pick her up @ the airport. Now, since this is a public forum, & you posted some of my comments here from the J' board I'll respond here, then we can agree to disagree on some things & leave it @ that. I agree with many things about checking hips. However, alot of people don't check hips & I'm curious as to how people operate. I see kennels that check & those that don't, can't say I see a huge difference in # of dogs produced with bad hips either way. I've never presented myself as anything but a dumb ol' hick from Alabama, but I have yet to see a definitive scientific study showing that hip dysplasia has been eliminated in a group of dogs by hip checking, OFA or Pennhip. I also stand my my inference that a vet has general knowledge & it takes some experience with AB's to attain "bulldog knowledge". Also, I've had 2 vets look @ hip x-rays on the same dog & one give it a good report, the other say he saw mild dysplasia. As an added note, the vet who gave the good report was a retired professor of surgery from the vet school @ Auburn University who now is in private practice specializing in orthopedics. Mark, I left a message that we could work together on some things, but that was before I read this post. think probably it's best we not collaberate. Nothing personal, but our personalities don't "geehaw" Here's my problem. Phil Allen was a friend of mine. Dave Timson is a friend of mine. Now with this post, when you make statements about people with 30 dogs that don't check hips, that encompasses some of my best friends that have done more for me than I can ever repay. And they have produced some dogs with great hips & have a very low percentage of replacement pups. They must be doing something right. So I wish the best to you, your new family & Big Sky American bulldogs. email flight info for Gracie that's convenient for you & I'll have her up to Ken. call it a wedding present.
