Posted by Richard H. Goms Jr. The Feltons seem to be prominent in the Louisville area. I would appreciate any information on the Felton name in the Louisville area; e.g. newpaper articles, cemetery burials, family histories, city/county court records, etc.

The Valparaiso, Indiana newspaper states that on 23 Jul 1885, "J. D. Morris of Kirkland, Ill. and Miss Carrie Felton of Louisville, Ky., son and niece of Mrs. James M. Pierce (Rebecca (Ashcom) Morris Pierce) are here on a short visit." If Carrie Felton was her niece, that means Carrie would have been the daughter of a sister of Rebeccas or James. A letter from a cousin Robert Morris Brown in 1986 states, ... Now here is the gist of what my grandmother [Rebecca Pierce] told me about the Felton family -- that Clara Rebecca Morris (my Aunt Clara) her looks, blond hair came from the Felton side of the Morris family. ... Carrie Felton must have been a great friend of my grandmothers. I remember a large photo of my grandmother and my mother taken in Kentucky in front of the Felton house -- my mother must have been around 15 years old -- maybe younger... Since this clearly shows that Carrie Felton was Rebeccas niece on the Morris side of the family, it would have had to have been a daughter of a sister of Rebecca's first husband, John F. Morris (b. 1819, McKean Co., PA).
