I actually mentioned it (Return to the 36 Chambers) in response to Dave (above). 'Shimmy Shimmy Ya' is lyrically out there --
"oh baby I like it raw. Oh baby I like it raaaaaaaaaaaaaw." Awesome. I have Grave Diggaz' 6 Feet Deep, and that's ####ing mind blowing, as well. As far as Liquid Swords -- Oh yeah, it's absolute ####ing aces. Agree whole heartedly there.
I like Cube's intelligence as well, but I say start with something like Pac's Me Against the World, which shows him at his lyrical and insightful peak. Apocalyptic and a testament to his acute foresight, if for nothing else. Plus it's dark as all get out. I love the vibe -- really eerie. That, or The 7 Day Theory. As far as individual Pac songs go, 'Pain' is certainly his best. I'd also recommend 'Runnin',' the original, unedited version from the mid 90s, instead of the stupid remix that came out a few years ago. Make sure it's the one with Buju Banton, and not that ####ing shrieking harpy b###h who does nothing but soil great verses with her annoying chorus. Shit man, I could go on for days -- most of the shit that has come out since Until the End of Time (starting somewhat on that album, too) have been hammy remixes of all of his unreleased material. Trust me on that one -- the original versions are MUCH better than the slimy remixes they disgrace him with. Hell, the warping of his vocals to say shit like 'G Unit' or name check Trick Daddy is reprehensible at best, and criminal at worst. I'll see if I can't find a site with all of the previous versions on it and get it to you. They used to crop up a LOT back near when Until the End of Time and Better Dayz came out.
