I'd say the 3rd one looks extremely good. I have played the first one somewhat on the PC, it was pretty good, though hardly as immersive as Half-Life.
I just got Killzone, a supposed Halo killer on the PS2 and it's crap.
Oh yeah, if you're getting an Xbox, even if it's free, try not to get the Core system. The "3 rings of death" (system crash) will be the death of you. It freezes after only an hour of gaming, apparently. Get an Elite or an RES.
