I kind of envy that you were able to resist it for that long. I guess no matter how I try, I'm still a sellout at heart. ;) When I was starting to get into music, I was *heavily* into taping all the videos off MTV and VH1 from 1994 to 1997-98 I could (a collection of VHS tapes I still have), and yes, there was a fair amount of Collective Soul and Green Day in there, heh. R.E.M. videos/songs were definitely among the ones that jumped out at me most during that time though.
