Dillard and Clark's first album, The Fantastic Expedition, is also way better, and it came out first. Really, I think that Sweetheart At the Rodeo's involvement in the development of country-rock is heavily overstated. It's a country album done by a pop/rock band, sure, but there's really nothing "pop" or "rock" about the album itself. |

: Okay, I know it's probably the Byrds' most
: overrated album, but jeez, do you REALLY
: think it's as bad as Dr. Byrds and Mr. Hyde
: , not to mention worse than the twin albums
: of 1971 (yeah, you have the wrong year for
: Farther Along )? The melodies are nice, the
: arrangements are tasteful, and it's a little
: more, er, relevent, than anything else they
: did later on. Honestly, I'd give it a 9,
: maybe a weak A on a good day.
: Especially when compared to Parson and
: Hillman's other band, The Flying Burrito
: Brothers, which was started just months
: after its release.
