Is any free software available that will allow you to upgrade the quality of your mp3s? I've found some software here and there, but it seems like you have to pay for all of it.
Basically, a while ago I switched computers and forgot to configure how I was ripping music to it, so while I used to rip it all in 320k, I now have a large chunk of music in 192k, and I'd like to fix that without re-ripping all of it.

: i was young and naïve. it was a lot of self
: convincing. then i realized how much space i
: wasted on my hard drive and compared it to
: decent quality mp3s and figured out i was
: wrong and swapped then and there. thing was,
: most of the mp3s i had initially compared it
: to were shitty quality, which wasn't a fair
: comparison. unless you work in a recording
: studio, there's no reason to eat up that
: kind of space. v0 and v2 mp3 are all you
: need.

: You used to swear by flac, didn't you? What

: no, it doesn't. no point in wasting money
: on
: vinyl since the recent demand has driven the
: price up. it's just like people who say
: they prefer flac to mp3s because of the
: difference in sound. mp3 (v0) is the best
: bet. you can't hear any difference beyond
: that format, and it's less space consuming
: than a bloated 320 rip that most people
: don't do right anyhow. unless you like
: wasting a gig of space per album for no real
: reason, stick to mp3s (v2 and v0 are the
: best choice).

: I never thought it did. But then again, I'm
