To put it in another perspective, their biggest contribution to rock music is the setting up of double standards in many a critic when it comes to analyzing rock music, not to mention a bunk philosophy of rock formed by said critics. To see how bad this could get, try finding an article first published in the August 1968 issue of Crawdaddy penned by one Wayne McGuire.
