I don't get this. I don't know what pseudo-intellectual hipsters think of Tom Waits, or anything else really, I just know how I react to his music.
What is there in Waits' actual music to suggest hipster bullshit? I hear traces of hipster bullshit in the music of, say, Neutral Milk Hotel, and The Decemberists, and Arctic Monkeys (not that these are completely worthless bands anyway, but that's not the point), but I've never detected anything in Waits' music that would even suggest hipster-crap.
