would be a good band for the 00s decade. What else... Animal Collective maybe? Don't know how John feels about them. They would be interesting to tackle chronologically since you'd have to get through their grating early work to get to the good stuff (it defeated Mark Prindle who was planning on reviewing them at one point). Of Montreal could also be a good candidate, they'd add to the Elephant 6 bands on the site.
Are you into Porcupine Tree? I'm not as enamored with them as some are, but they'd certainly be a interesting act to tackle. At various times they've fallen on both the good and bad sides of modern prog, so it would be a good opportunity to tackle that phenomenon without having to resort to real crap like say, The Flower Kings.
Everything else people already mentioned is cool too. Though I suppose I could request some of my personal favourite bands that most people haven't heard of (well, most people outside of places where I post anyway), like Jellyfish, Harmonium, Cardiacs, The Lilac Time and so on.
