I'm wondering what was offputting about what I've written. Maybe it's the mentioning of bribery reviews and what happen on Prindle's site
You review one unsign artist, next thing you know 100 more unsign artist drops in their CD and you can't even review CDs you like doing. There is a feeling of obligation to do that and that's what stop Prindle's bribery reviews
John reviews Greg, next thing you know me and you send in some music and then Howard the duck sends some music and then john would be flooded with reviews request (although I don't know how popular John's site is and how many people would take up that offer).
Or maybe he doesn't want to be mean public shaming amatuers. It's one thing shaming professional musicians who are rich and wealthy themselves, it's another thing shaming amateurs and it makes you look like a dick which is the reputation that snobby professional critics have (maybe he was offended by that comparison)
Or maybe it's the idea of listening to music sent by me and he has some really negative perception of what it will sound like based on what I've written on this board.
