"Yeah Nolol you really like these type of atmospheric type of music that straddles the fine line between beautiful and boring."
True enough ;) Blue is one of my favorite EPs from Color Spectrum after all. I'll just say that Helplessness Blues is a serious grower.

: Some of the list will give me somewhat busy
: through the next month or so. I'll try to
: check out most of the album especially.
:
: Quick thoughts on some album
: Fleet Foxes - I like white winter hymnal and
: blue ridge mountain (especially the piano
: section of that song) . The rest of the
: songs haven't grab me. The first album has
: potential to grow although I don't think
: it's something I will ever love. I find
: their 2nd album rather dull and I can't
: remember much about it even with multiple
: listen. Yeah Nolol you really like these
: type of atmospheric type of music that
: straddles the fine line between beautiful
: and boring.
:
: Mclusky does dallas - err it's hardcore punk
: music. Lots of screaming and shouting and
: noisy guitars. Lack of melodies which is
: kind of acts as a veto in my taste. Not my
: type of music as I am unable to
: differentiate between good hardcore and bad
: hardcore music.
:
: Meriweather post pavillion and Zammuto -
: bit weird for my liking. Although may
: require multiple listening for me to
: "Get".
:
: Unrelated to anyone recommendation but it's
: an 00's album
: I listen to The XX's - Music equivalent to a
: cocktease. I like the vocals and I like the
: general sound but there are sections
: throughout the album where it seems like the
: song is about to build up to something epic
: (some sections reminds me of the build up in
: Exit by U2 and a few Joy Division songs) but
: doesn't. They are happy remaining in a
: consistent lazy (monotonous) mood. Very
: frustrating listen. I can forgive monotony
: if the music is really strong but I can't
: really forgive false hopes of dynamic
: variation and not deliver on it.
:
: The aliens luna , i mention that album
: before but geez this album just keeps
: getting better everytime i listen to it.
: Reminds me of Flaming lips but arguably more
: catchier and more complex. Probably the 2nd
: best album of the decade after Hackett's out
: of tunnel mouth.

: Ok well I may have defended the 90's as it
: introduce me to rock music in general.
:
: However it was the 00's that drew me away
: from modern rock and made me look to the
: past for "new" music instead of
: the present.
:
: It was during the 00's when I listen to the
: radio and couldn't find many acts that I
: enjoyed and when I decided to search for
: recommendation for new music I look at stuff
: like Pitchforkmedia and Q magazine and look
: at albums of the year list. I don't think
: Pitchfork has ever introduced me to artist I
: have enjoyed before.
:
: I just felt music that was simultaneous
: melodic and catchy, has anthemic qualities,
: has complex arrangement and non-repetitive
: was something I could easily find in the
: past than the present.
:
: In any case the best albums of this decade
: were by older bands who originated in . The
: only great albums (D/13+ albums) were by
: older bands such as by Steve Hackett,
: Radiohead, Nick Cave/Grinderman instead of
: artist that originated from the 00's.
: Recently thanks to recommendation by George
: Starostin, I thought that Aliens's Luna
: album was the first band I've heard that
: originated from the noughties to released a
: D/13 album but then I realised that they are
: basically an offshoot of Beta Band a 90's
: group so I don't think that count.
:
: The bands I like from this decade are Arcade
: Fire, Franz Ferdinand, Muse, The Strokes,
: The White Stripes, Gomez, Gorillaz,
: Coldplay, Death cabs but really at best they
: are a 1 to 2 star group for me.
:
: Now I'm not willing to dismiss the decade as
: I realised that just because I haven't heard
: any alltime great bands this decade doesn't
: mean an alltime great noughties band doesn't
: exist. So I'm hoping for some suggestions to
: artist to folllow up.
:
: Bare in mind I have a bias towards more
: "anthemic" or epic and an
: irrational love for dynamic music and an
: irrational hatred of repetitive music. I
: also haven't found a way to enjoy
: non-melodic music yet so probably avantgarde
: and rap/spoken words and instrumental
: electronic music is probably beyond me right
: now.
:
: Oh yeah, I'm welcome to albums from the 10's
: as well (best album so far this decade is
: Hackett's Beyond the Shrouded Horizon).
