That doesn't make the CD worthless. That just makes the CD a different thing from the DVD.
It's not an uncommon thing to do. Pink Floyd's Pulse is a good example. The CD and the DVD of that are completely different shows. the last Genesis live album did it as well (though they did title the CD and DVD differently in that case, though it's obvious they're meant to be counterparts to one another).
