The roster listing comes from a 140-page paperback booklet titled "ROSTER of officers and enlisted men, 84th Infantry Division, European Theatre of Operations, World War II." It was published by Viking Press (NY) in 1946 and distributed as part of a boxed set with the official division history, "The 84th Infantry Division in the Battle of Germany" by Lt. Theodore Draper. Your grandfather may have this set. Everyone in the division had an opportunity to order it before we left Europe and on publication it was mailed to our home addresses. Both the division history and the roster are out of print. However, reprints and used copies (particularly of the division history) can often be found through various Internet booksellers. My memoir "Dear Captain, et al.: the Agonies and the Ecstasies of War and Memory" is available from the publisher, Xlibris (with discounts from list) at the site below or via toll-free telephone at: 1-888-795-4274.
