My wife's father, Carlos Hinojosa, was a member of the 334th Infantry Division, E Company. He is deceased now and we are looking for more information on his time with the 334th -- he recalled in letters home entering a camp, but he doesn't say if it was Ahlem or Salzwedel. Anyone know? Apparently he got the nickname "Frenchy" for his ease in picking up the French languge, though it is clear from his letters he held the French in low regard. Does anyone out there remember Carlos (Cali)? He received the Purple Heart at some point before the 334th reached the Elbe and, after recovering, went on to drive trucks in France and Germany in the cleanup after the German defeat.
