Company H 335th Infantry

My grandfather was Fred M. Fitzpatrick, and he has been deceased since October 1969. His DD-214 shows that he served with Company H 335th Inf of the 84th Division. I recently discovered some documents that give a chronology of time that corresponds with the actions of the 42nd Inf Div from December 8, 1944 to July 16, 1945. We have both Railsplitter and Rainbow uniforms.... 1) Does anyone recognize his name, and 2) Does anyone know if the 42nd and 84th ever worked together. Thanks
