The 84th Division roster lists Captain Joseph W. Donovan of Putnam, Connecticut as a member of the 335th Infantry Regiment. He served in all three of the division's campaigns and was awarded a Bronze Star Medal. The division history, "The 84th Infantry Division in the Battle of Germany" by Lt. Theodore Draper, indicates that he was the commander of the Headquarters Company of the 335th Infantry.
