I to have been searching for information on my father and was able to find some through the VA due to him being wounded. The VA had to provide the treatment for them. I was able to get his Discharge papers and also was able to get a copy of his medals. To find this I worked through the National Archives with one of their workers and they were quiet helpful when you have them on the phone. Now They are a Reserve unit.
