Posted by Allan Wilford Howerton Lt. Col. Wallace was wounded at the battle of Lindern, Germany (November 29-December 2, 1944) and Major Bahe most likely became battalion commander at that time. His name is mentioned in an after-combat interview with (then) 1st.Lt. Leonard R. Carpenter, the commander of Company K-335 describing the defense of Rochefort, Belgium on the night of December 22/23, 1944. Major Bahe was at Rochefort during that operation prior to its fall to the Germans. He was most likely wounded during the Allied counterattack to close the Bulge during January 1945. However, I have no further information about him.

The 84th Division roster lists Major Gordon A. Bahe among the officers of the 335th Infantry. It notes that he served during the Rhineland and Ardennes campaigns and was awarded Silver Star and Purple Heart medals. As he did not serve during the Central Europe campaign he was mostly likely wounded during the Battle of the Bulge. The division history, "The 84th Infantry Division in the Battle of Germany" by Lt. Theodore Draper lists Major Bahe as the second of three commanders of the 3rd Battalion, 335th Infantry, between Lt. Lt. Col. Robert E. Wallace and Lt. Col. Ridgley Bond. 134
