My father was Andrew Merritt who was a Platoon Sergeant and a member of Company G., Second Battalion, 335th Infantry. He landed at Utah Beach and went on to fight in all three of the 84th Division, Second Battalion's campaigns (Rhineland, Aredennes and Central Europe) He was wounded in the vicinity of Hannover, Germany while guarding bridges and an Allied Priosoner of War camp in the vicinity of Barsinghausen as well as patrolling and posting military installations in the vicinity of Hannover. I hope this helps, My father did not speak often of his experiences but if anyone is familar with any of the above campaigns or the division my father was in I would appreciate hearing from you.
