Per the 84th Division roster Pfc. Jim Pollock of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma was a member of Company L, 335th Infantry. November 29, 1944 was the first day of the Battle of Lindern, Germany, a major stronghold in the Siegfried Line. The battle is described in detail in the division history, "The 84th Infantry Division in the Battle of Germany" by Lt. Theodore Draper and my memoir, "Dear Captain, et al.:the Agonies and the Ecstasies of War and Memory." 57
