Thank you Allen. That confirms the small bit of information I have and helps to patch up some of the holes.
I remember him recounting how he was injured when I was younger. Some other soldiers had returned with some coffee and told him where to find it. It was inside a house (this might actually have been the medics station) and when he arrived he was standing close to the window. A soldier inside told him "you best get back from the window, they've been sending rounds through here" and just as he finished his sentence a mortar round hit just outside. Sharpnel came through the window which hit his left side and injured his arm and grazed his head just above his left eye. He said if he'd been one step further he probably would have lost his life.
