Per the 84th Division roster, S/Sgt. Ivan W. Beams of Middletown, New York was a member of Company E, 334th Infantry. He served during all three of the division's campaigns (Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe) and was awarded a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star Medal with one cluster (in effect two bronze stars).
