Port Royal Times of December 12,1944.
Rev. John L. Robison, Pastor of the local Presbyterian Church and his wife, Mrs. Robison, have receoved word that their youngest son, Pfc. James L. Robison, of Co. L, 334th Infantry, of the U. S. Army, has been reported missing in action since November 23 in Germany.
Pfc. Robison entered the service April 1942 and was sent to the Army Air Force Basic Training Center in Greensboro, North Carolina. After nine weeks he was transferred to VIrginia Polytechnical Institute, Blackburg, Virginia. After nine months training there in Air Corps Engineering, he was transferred to the Infantry and sent to Camp Claiborne, Louisiana. In September he was sent to Holland by way of France and Belgium.
He was 21 years of age in September and his older brother, Sgt. John C. Robison, is also serving his country somewhere in Europe, Company H, 290th Inf.
Pfc. James Robison is a graduate of Port Royal High School, class of 1941, and at the time of his induction into the Armed Forces was a student at Marysville College. He is a very fine young gentleman, loved and respected by all who knew him, and his many friends join with the Times in extending our sympathy to the parents and other members of the family and all are hoping that he may be all right and soon be able to return to his outfit and his home.
