Woodrow Bettis, Little Rock, Arkansas is listed in a 1980s directory of the Railsplitter Society, Inc. as a member of Company K, 333rd Infantry. However, his name does not appear in the K-333 section of the 84th Infantry Division’s wartime roster. This could be an error of omission or he may have been assigned to the division and/or the company following service in another unit. If so, he could have served during the Army of Occupation in Germany until the Division was demobilized in January 1946. Do you have any information pertaining to the locales of his wartime service?
The best source of information about Company K, 333rd Infantry is "The Men of Company K" by Harold P. Leinbaugh and John D. Campbell (Wm. Morrow & Co.: 1985). Leinbaugh was the company commander and Campbell was his deputy. The book is out of print but it may be found at many libraries, or though interlibrary loan, and used copies are sometimes available at various Internet booksellers.
