Arnold Rygh was my great uncle. I am trying to find out where he was buried in Belgium? I am visiting Europe in 2009 and would like to visit his original gravesite, as well as the last battleground where he died. I also have found that he was reburied at home in Illinois. Was that common to have 2 burials? Would they have moved all of his remains, or is it possible only some personal effects left Europe? Would they still keep the old gravesite in Belgium? My only knowledge is through his obituary - that he was buried by a Protestant Chaplain in Belgium initially. Big family mystery here and I would really appreciate anyone who can help me out. If anyone knew him personally, I would also enjoy hearing about what he was like and finding out more about him. Thank you all for your service to our country.
Sincerely,
Cliff Alberts
