The 84th Division roster lists Pfc. Paul D. Garrett of Los Angeles, California as a member of Company B, 335th Infantry. He served during the Rhineland and Central Europe campaigns and was awarded a Purple Heart with one cluster indicating that he was twice wounded. From this it appears that at least one of the injuries occurred in November or December 1944 along the Siegfried Line (Rhineland Campaign) as he did not serve in the Ardennes (Battle of the Bulge). Mr. Garrett was also a member of the 84th infantry Division Railsplitters Society, Inc. A Society directory from the 1980s lists him as residing in Littlerock, California at that time.
