Unfortunately, there is no photo of Lt. Deane in "Dear Captain, et al." I have not been successful in locating a photo or learning anything about his background. As he was with us only during combat as a replacement officer I doubt if any pictures were taken of him during that time. The only source might be his family (which, without knowing his hometown, I have not been able to locate) who might, hopefully one day, come upon this or other Internet postings.
