Regrettably, the only information I have on Pfc. Steve A. Zdunkewicz is a listing in the 84th Division roster that indicates that he was a member of Company E, 334th Infantry and died of wounds April 19, 1945. He was from Edinburg, Texas, served in the Rhineland and Central Europe campaigns but not in the Ardennes (Battle of the Bulge).
You might consider contacting the city of Edinburg to see if they might refer you to a local historian, veterans organization, or others who could possibly find someone from Zdunkewicz’s family. Several individuals of that name are listed in the Texas Internet white pages directory. As this is not a common name, chances are good that some may be related. At the Edinburg site (link below) there is a “Contact us” link for messages at the lower right.
