Regrettably, I have no information on Russel L. Lake. For information re 84th Infantry Division operations in the vicinity of Hotton and Verdene during the Battle of the Bulge, suggest you consult the division history, "The 84th Infantry Division in the Battle of Germany" by Lt. Theodore Draper (Viking Press: NY, 1946). The book is now out of print but reprints and used copies may sometimes be found at various Internet booksellers. There is also a pamphlet titled "The 84th Infantry Division in THE BATTLE OF THE ARDENNES, December 1944-January 1945" by Lt. Draper. This is the same as the Ardennes chapter of the division history and used copies may also be found sometimes at Internet booksellers.
