The error at the site Railsplitter Photos has been corrected and may be accessed at http://www.blurb.com/b/5990638-witness-to-history
. However, it appears that the preview link for the book "Witness to History" by Mark Miller is not functioning. For more information suggest that you contact Mark Miller per the information on the site. This is, indeed, an outstanding collection of photos, which up until recently were all displayed online at the site.
I do not find a listing for Walter Liles Mims Jr in the 84th Division roster, which was compiled just after hostilities ceased in May 1945. The only listing for a soldier by the name of Mims is: Mims, Wiiliam A., Pfc, R.A.CE., Clanton, Ala. who served with Company M, 3rd Battalion, 334th Infantry.
There is a listing in a 1980s directory of the Railsplitter Society for Walter L. Mims, 2415 Shades Crest Road, Birmingham, Alabama 35216 that lists his unit as Headquarters, Division Artillery.
What further information do you have about his service?
Thank you for your inquiry.
