Thanks. The 29th regiment was spread widely in Belgium and his little group was separated from the rest of his company and ended up temporarily fighting with those units defending Rochefort. He said he left on either a truck or in a jeep, I don't recall which, and it took him several days to rejoin his unit. I guess he must have been under the de facto command of Major Bahe during the action in Rochefort. His official records were lost in the archives fire.
