I have been researching my great-uncle's death in WWII. I have obtained copies of 2 morning reports from the National Archives in St. Louis. One is for the day he was listed as MIA and the other is for the day his status was changed to KIA. My question - there is a column on the report entitled "Code". Next to my great-uncles name is "M9" and below that "1912". Do you have any idea what these codes mean or, if not, how I could find out?
