Regrettably, I cannot definitively answer your question as to the coded morning report entries. In the morning reports for my unit the columns pertaining to serial number, grade, MOS, and code are not consistently filled in below the headings but rather are sometimes spread out across the page after the soldier’s name. And they are not always complete. The code "1912" is most likely his main occupational skill (MOS). I am not familiar with "M9." Suggest you query the National Archives.
